This print is based on a larger painting that was done in oils on return from a month-long residency spent in Jordan during the time of the Arab Spring. While visiting Petra Nicola began to feel sorry for the horses that were kept waiting around, carrying heavy loads, looking hot and very tired. Their own hardships were easier for her to depict than some of the stories told to her by the communities she was working with, including Palestinian refugees. Animals are often metaphors among Nicolas' work. It is her hope that this horse and all it represents has been given dignity.
58.5x42cm inc. border, giclee print, limited edition of 20, signed and numbered.
The Prints come hard-back cased and in a sleeve. No mount and no rolling.
